How To Quickly Fix Cracks In The Tile At Your Place Of Business

About Me
Hiring A Professional Cleaning Company

After we bought a foreclosure, I knew that we were going to need a little help with the place. The entire upstairs was covered in garbage, and the bathrooms looked like they had never been cleaned. It was discouraging, and I was worried about the place being unsafe for my children. I realized that I couldn't tackle the job on my own, so I started looking into hiring a professional cleaning service. I found a great cleaning company that could come out and begin work right away. They were amazing to work with, and they worked fast. This blog is all about why you should hire a professional cleaning service.

If you have tile installed at your place of business, such as a hotel or office, you want the tile to look as nice as possible. If the tile starts to crack, it can make the room the tile is in look cheap and like it is not well-cared for, which can bring down customer's view of your business.  You can avoid this by quickly fixing any crack that appears on the floor of your business. Here is how to quickly fix any crack in your tile.

#1 Clean The Crack

The first thing that you need to do is clean the crack well before you repair it. You don't want to have to deal with a dirty crack or seal up the dirt. Use a wet cloth with some dish soap on it to clean around the crack. Then, use a sharp thin instrument, such as a need or a toothpick, to pick out and remove any dirt that has gotten stuck in the crack.

Be sure to dry the crack before proceeding.

#2 Seal The Crack

Second, you are going to need to purchase some tile sealant from your local hardware store. This type of tile sealant is specifically designed to handle cracks in tile floors, and is often sold in small squeeze containers in the flooring section of hardware and home improvement store.

Take the tile sealant, and spread a small amount from one end of the crack in your tile to the other end. Make sure that you apply the sealant along the entire length of the crack. Once you have applied the tile crack sealant, use a leveling device to spread out and push the sealant into the crack. If any sealant got on the surrounding tile, use a wet rag to clean it up before the sealant starts to settle and hardened.

#3 Wait & Check

Next, allow the sealant to settle and cure. The container that you purchased should tell you the exact curing time for that particular sealant, which could be anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. During this time, it is important that nobody walk on the area that you applied the sealant to and that no liquid is dropped on that area. You may want to put up warning cones or block off the area that you are working on.

After the appropriate curing time has passed, check the area and make sure that the crack has been filed in and is no longer visible. If the crack is still visible, you may not have used enough sealant and may need to repeat steps one and two again.

By following the quick and easy steps above, you can quickly fix any cracks that develop in the tile at your workplace, helping to maintain a clean and professional look. For more help, contact a company like Marble Tec Systems.
